Why Is Spend Data Missing for Some Campaigns?
You’re seeing impressions, clicks, and other engagement metrics for a campaign, but spend shows zero or is missing entirely. This is one of the most common questions we get, and it’s almost never a Panamplify bug.
The Most Common Cause
This typically happens when a campaign is executed on one platform but reported through another — for example, inventory bought through a demand-side platform and then pulled into a separate campaign manager for unified reporting. In these setups, the reporting platform’s API usually passes through every engagement metric correctly, but withholds spend. That’s a limitation of how the platforms share data with each other, and it applies no matter what reporting tool is pulling the data — not something specific to your connection.
How to Confirm
- Check whether the campaign in question was executed through a secondary platform rather than directly in the connected account.
- Confirm other metrics (impressions, clicks) are populating normally for that same campaign — if they are, this points to the pass-through limitation above rather than a broken connection.
- If spend is missing across all metrics for an account, not just one campaign type, that’s more likely an authorization issue — see My Report Numbers Look Off.
What to Do About It
If a client needs spend figures for campaigns affected by this limitation, that number currently needs to be pulled directly from the platform actually executing the buy, then added to the report manually. If this is a recurring need for a client, let us know — we track which platform-level limitations are worth pursuing a workaround for.
